Context

The FIFA World Football Museum had an ambitious goal: to create from scratch the official house of international fandom, gathering the history and passion for football, in a newly built and completely dedicated building in Zurich.

Challenge

Develop the digital strategy of the brand new institution, the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich (CH); design and deliver the responsive website before the official opening event. The website integrated exhibitions database coming from a complex layer of APIs.

Solution

As the first step, before dealing with content architecture and navigation, a content strategy was defined in order to set up tone of voice and design principles, according to the institution’s brand guidelines.

After defined strategy, architecture, and navigation patterns, a wide set of wireframes was defined, for mobile and desktop displays, including annotations for analysts, content managers, and developers. Third parties services were included in the native CMS, in order to manage collections.

A design system was defined in parallel with selected key visual templates, used for quick prototypes for user tests.

In this project my role was both UX designer principlal and AGILE product owner.
